alevin: very young fish
anadromous: lives in the sea and reproduces itself in fresh water
euphasids: small crustaceans living in suspension in the water
fry: very young fish
gonads: sexual glands
great salmon: salmon that comes back to the river after more than one year at sea
gregarious: that lives in a group
grisle: salmon coming back to the river after a winter at sea, related to the high sea
offshore fishing: related to the high sea
smolt: young salmon who left the river but has not yet spent a winter at sea
spawning run: travel of the fish leaving salt water to ascent fresh water
two sea-winter salmon: salmon that spent 2 years at sea
three sea-winter salmon: salmon that spent 3 years at sea
