| Wildlife inventories SNAKES Some of our snake species, such as the brown snake and the northern water snake, are particularly rare or vulnerable. Consequently, before embarking on many development projects, inventories are required to determine whether they are present, and to locate certain sensitive habitats, such as hibernacula, where several hundred snakes may shelter for part of the year.
Our staff have unparalleled experience in inventorying snakes and locating hibernacula. The inventory protocol developed by Envirotel 3000, in conjunction with the Société zoologique de Granby and the personnel of Parks Canada and the Ministère des Ressources naturelles de la faune et des parcs, is one of the few that are suitable for inventorying snakes in temperate environments. > |
